Unlock Your Justice

There seems to be much more to seek

when considering salvation
reducing need by escape from greed
owning up to your fear sensation

To be content and serenely calm
let your anger waves abate
accept a world of differences
gaining insight losing hate

Keep a weathered eye on  fairness
ask yourself how you are blameless
study every crowd who screams out loud
proclaiming all but us are shameless

Cat Kin

That is yours, this is mine
no, no, no, we share them
I want them. No! I want them
be careful else we’ll tear them

Let’s stop a moment think awhile
slow down a bit and wait
we can find a quieter way
like fair and square negotiate

Negotiate means listen more
try to understand
each one of us can have their say
then walk in friendship hand in hand

Stray Cat: A love story

Yeah well I’ve been around some
you’ll forgive me if I wait
at times I’ve been quite gullible
succumbing to the bait

I used once to be so trusting
in those young days quite naïve
giving almost everything
with dripping wounds I took my leave

I got used to grief and hunger
denied my loneliness and pain
but never once gave up my hope
to meet a real friend once again

Time for a Crow

The complex cognition of crows
makes a bird with exceptional brains
giving answers to questions we pose
for the crow with cognition explains

Following smart movers is canny
beneficial in setting them free
enhancing the scope of their cranny
finding proof at the top of the tree

Crows can 'reason' about causes

The Eccentric Teapot

A cup of tea for every taste
must at all times bring one flavour
deep and rich and colourful
enhancing interludes to savour

The best of brews promoting muse
aromatic heaven scent
may not be got without a pot
when in pursuit of esculent

Reduce the odds when brewing tea
avoid the cuppa lottery
the finest tea will set you free
in a vessel of teapottery

This terrific little British business based in Leyburn Yorkshire  has reopened and we wish them every success for the future.

The Winner

A peoples champion

Praise goes to the intrepid champion
who fought every step of the way
who never gave up his mighty resolve
and defeated his rival dismay

He conquered the enemy inside
and hammered the voice of dissent
ignoring the slurs from the media cur’s
trouncing the spiteful his greatest event

So light up a beacon for all to enjoy
his war so much more than a flurry
I may not be Scottish yet proud of this boy
the invincible man Andy Murray

The Caller

Lying there waiting hour by hour
in hope that the certain may change
among callers and carers moments pass
as one secretly desires some exchange

The visitor calls with nothing to say
finding rhythm by drumming on knees
humming along to invisible tunes
feeling bankrupt whilst trying to please

Though it slows down the moments
the caller reflects images of personal pain
a visit devalued by self interest’s defeat
forcing silence to scream once again

When visiting the sick and desperately ill leave duty in the trash can outside. If when you arrive you have nothing to say
then at least avoid platitudes like: “And how are we today?
