Desirability of deep colour
Natures remedies infuse
Steering senses in the wilderness
In the melancholy blues
Cobalt glowed between them
Luscious violet vivid green
Shaping blue in driving forces
Beheld astoundingly serene
Blanket blues in covering shades
Teardrop feelings of emotion
Alluring petals of aconitum
Give blue warnings of their potion

This unseen prowler constantly
For convenience I call ‘I’
Overtakes my consciousness
Where surface tensions underlie
This impatient interrupter
Unashamedly shows up
Then just as easily ignoring me
Like a dry bone empty cup
Often pleasantly bestowing gifts
From where I struggle to surmise
A curved ball at a tangent
Which I catch to my surprise
My ‘I’ a fleeting visitor
Frustrating dream invader
Calls me to my table notebook
This huge idea crusader
Social media has got us nailed
Obsessed to use their sites
Controlling much of waking hours
Forestalling dreamy nights
Disrespectful with our data
Which they distribute for cash
Enriching exponentially
Piling high their mammoth stash
They do not need a war machine
A rebellion or a coup
Merely saturate our biases
Manipulating what we do.
The Screen Eyed promenaders
Finger tapping worlds away
No longer live outside the box
In their almost light of day
In small groups they click restricted
Scrolling at a rate of knots
Searching for what’s happening
In their slim, connected slots
Sending icons of their feelings
Hoping someone understands
Sharing likes and laughing loudly
Thumbs and fingers tap offhand

With overstated sense of self
She wore a smirk with style
As though she knew the answer
To everything worthwhile
Betrayed by body language
Overbearing self-assured
spreading frosty distances
On all connections unsecured
Unconvincing inconsistent
Maintaining permanence in rifts
Estimating scanty packages
As little more than worthless gifts
Fudging hedging fibbing
A politician’s self defence
Disparate views intentionally
Sitting smugly on the fence
Impersonates authority
With flimflam drivel bluff
Bland misunderstandings
Full of nonsense laden guff
Politics that govern us
Expect adherence to the law
Yet all along they’re perpetrating
A never-ending flaw
In the car park spread immense
Among the rows I wonder
Struggle to unknot my parking spot
Denying my parking blunder
Was it by the entrance or exit
My memory has slipped my place
Secretly scanning left and right
Doing my best to not lose face
Round and round I continue to roam
Bewildered beginning to dread
Then just in time I feign recall
On how I left it there instead
The boss with vested interest
With both eyes on the ball
A need to nab and greedy grab
The largest share of all
Rapaciously insatiable
Incessant cash collector
In charge of reining others in
Unimpeachable collector
Not answering to anyone
Head honcho of the sting
Without a check did break the necks
