The Humanist

Locally our human world
seeks harmony and peace
to coexist in friendliness
with freedom our release

The folks we meet in passing
most politely we will charm
extending hands of helpfulness
no thought to do them harm

We’re personally responsible
there is no get out clause
Comfortable with differences
as we pursue a worthy cause

The 'Golden Rule' is a humanity thing.

Child Minder Wanted

Clarice Insnitia mysterious girl
always pacing and racing around
uptight in a hurry turmoil and swirl
scream and rage her regular sound

Clarice Insnitia no time to dwell
disobedient wayward unruly
went her own way rang her own bell
saying people misjudged her unduly

Clarice Insnitia just didn’t like rules
would only play games she could win
people she knew she treated like fools
now she’s left all alone with her din

The Last Straw

It’s up to each and all of us
to care for milk production
milk producers disappearing
product loss then job reduction

The industry in jeopardy
whilst retail profits soar
a monster share of billions
as our farmers close the door

Wake Up You Are Being Milked

Five thousand million litres
of milk consumed each year
retailers take the golden top
Farmer’s low reward austere

Six thousand million litres
for dried milk cheese and butter
once again a creaming off
as farmers cough and splutter

Take a careful look at value
become a farm supporter
considering that yuppie price
to sip a branded slurp of water

Think on about the water craze
of fashion slurping ilk
no more required than bottling
whilst there is so much more to milk

I Can’t Be Asked

All too easy scorning teens
accuse them of despair
wonder where the spirit is
a seeming lack of flair

Easy does it steady on
such a tricky situation
is it really them to blame
for a lack of inclination

"It’s hard to get up early
so good to lay in bed
the world is just too tedious
too much playing with my head"

Fishwick’s Papers

In spite of all the bureaucrat’s
those reams of forms to file
obfuscating clauses writs
covering up a crooked stile

We raise our glass to diligence
Fishwick’s Papers break the spell
the Bank-of-Dave is music to
the chimes of Liberty’s Bell

Nicked Buckles On His Knee

It’s my best guess that G4 S
in top designer Dash
will speed off in a Javeline
a pole-vault stuffed with cash

They’ll make a marathon pleading
side step the steeple chase
give a banker’s note to the MOD
at a metropolitan PACE

Dave a Loan Saviour

The counting house restricted
a powerful banker chuckles
misappropriation wins
the house of cards just buckles

The law machine is out of fuel
as contracts feed the fire
bonds and words are lemon curds
when good taste exceeds desire

Such scales of theft unheard of
a tsunami criminal wave
hollow folk return to the street
to save with Bank-of-Dave

The Chatter Nougat Oh to

Oh to use my phone again
to call and text my friends
Oh what a mess oh to confess
to all those sad loose ends

My Blackberry a crusty pie
electronically in pain
a mobile without emphasis
has sent my contact list insane

Let The Children Be

If you believe then I care not
unless I hear you say
that I must learn to love a God
and let it rule my day

This living world the progress made
through struggle loss and pain
has come from evidence everywhere
not a trace from God we gain

Let us give thanks to everyone
finding scientific laws
who took heed of the evidence
ignoring God and all its flaws

Thumper the Scripture Rabbit

Ah the good old Church of England
looking hard to up its game
misguided that their moral quest
is anything but lame

So many stuffy Bishops
who exert above the law
spouting all that boring stuff
that the brighter kids abhor

We’ll do much more theology
increase our bible quotes
bang the bible thumping drum
as we ram it down their throats

Church looks to use its schools as tools
for evangelisationhttp://www.humanism.org.uk/news/view/1070

Soccer Rage

Being raised as a bigot continues
fear and dogma embeds in the brain
suppressing the will to question this ill
permit’s the grounding of evil to gain

Narrow minded is no doubt the key
superstition is plainly the route
hysteria applied to a fanatical chant
with the strike of a high kicking boot

All too easy to find paralells in soccer with extreme faccists and  religious mania.

Lords a Leaping

It’s been around for far too long
the grace and favour crew
paid handsomely taxpayer sums
which so unjustly they accrue

How can we claim democracy
unfettered straight and true
giving heritage and divinity
free consensus to imbue

Childish Things

Some things I see are plain to me
Though hard to understand
As each day goes I work it out
Like counting fingers on my hand

Why are things the way they are
I quiz my family and my friends
In a world that's full of worldly things
Weird beginnings sad strange ends

Explanations are most helpful
Kids understand the honest truth
With reasoned powers of detection
In every child the finest sleuth
