I’m putting on 
my friendly hat

Made of remnants 
from my welcome mat

A tit-for-tat of bristling pile

To guarantee
 my day-long smile

I wear with it 
a blissful grin

To underscore the mood I’m in

When stepping out 
I skip and wiggle

Ignoring scary stares, 
I giggle


Smiles sometimes
 quite hard to find

So I’ll pass some round
 
if you don’t mind

My cheerful view
 invites a few

So put away that mopey coat

All aboard my laughing boat

One hundred muscles 
make a frown

Just a twitch to wear the merry gown
