In My Write Mind

Rambling on blank pages
A wilderness of phrases
A poet contemplates a rhyme
Rushes hot with upper cases

Idle nibbling whilst scribbling
Inspiration comes to mind
Optimistic that its origins
Will prove to be a perfect find

Dark clouds ink like draining
Hardly moving no retreat
Watching racing rivulets
Feeling light is incomplete

Unceasing moans and murmurs
Drip tap tapping rain
Heavy reverie imagining
Trapped inside a hurricane

Mysteries steeped in history
Bleeding battlegrounds convey
Making timely points in movement
Writing chessboard games to play

In pursuit of perfect questions
Portraying flawless explanations
Contrasting the impossible
With most appropriate innovations

Festively Festivity

I’m writing a song for the time of year
You could call it a festive ringle
Bells and sleighs on dark night days
A kind of jangle wrangle jingle

Lalala de tralala
sing songs of celebration
It’s what we do this time of year
A jubilation situation

Sparkle lights set sights on party nights
Filling sacks with joy provisions
Conserves preserves and pickling drinks
Wrapping up those big decisions

Lalala de tralala
sing a song of celebration
It’s what we do this time of year
A jubilation situation

All the family surround the tree
Bring in the neighbours pull some crackers
Canapes and full-filled trays
Under mistletoe for smackers

Lalala de tralala
sing a song of celebration
It’s what we do this time of year
A jubilation situation

Lalala de tralala
sing a song of celebration
It’s what we do this time of year
A jubilation situation

SEO and Off I Go

Being enginised and optimised
Your seeking search uncovers clues
Signs that guide you pointedly
Among the don’ts dare not’s and do’s

We need to spread our butter well
On the nicest kinds of slices
Between the hoax when telling jokes
Where double meaning oft entices

Find the place of perfect interface
Where double action means two-way
Then countermand a poor demand
Put pertinential into play

Two Ropey coined words here 'enginised' ramping up with a fast and most effective search engine. 'Pertinential' the ultimate in ever increasing relevance.

Colin In A Room With His Views

Sitting quietly with crosswords
In his place without event
Considering a world at large
Among his memories well meant

Artifacts and bagged up articles
Evoking bygone everydays
Now hidden in the settled dust
Self-contained in silent haze

Enjoying his tranquility
Friendly books and magazines
Ruminating on past travelling
Those exotic far flung scenes

What of then and living now
How happy is the man
He tells me quite contented
Doing everything he can

This is Colin, who some may describe as reclusive or eccentric. Nevertheless, I have met with Colin twice recently and found him both times to be pleasant bright and talkative. Colin a skilled Artisan, is well travelled and has led an interesting life. This poem describes a man without pretensions and few needs. He owns his house and looked after both parents when the time came to do so. It's possible that people see Colin like the blurred photograph above but I see him as an intriguing poem.

Jig Saw Sky

Kissing clouds hold wispy hands
Dance embraced in passing strains
A musical of image streams
In songs where resonance remains

To reach and grasp a sense of light
Rainbow bright in morning dew
Crystal crisp and lucid bright
Tear dropped tones cerulean blue

Poem for Kimmie
