Is giving up the ghost
No longer fit for purpose

In a cluttered cabinet
Where a wishful voice believes in choice
So that you ain't seen nothing yet
Battles on a careworn road
Communications overplayed
Adopting elegant touches
Winning arguments in trade
Every aspect international
Ideas pulled from everywhere
Yet Englishness is truly plain
Well-rehearsed, with much to spare
In English, language speaks out loud
Where deviations obfuscate
So when dealing with the language
There is much to recreate
A rhyme can test or prove a point
With invitations that agree
In pursuit of gist and harmony
A word of meaning potpourri
So many ways each outline plays
In a compendium of choice
Avoiding standards of Vernacular
In detachment’s local voice
The rhyme draws out magnetically
Extracting value from mid-air
Proving statements with intention
With wild conceptions drenched in flair
When trapped inside a puzzle
Every answer must be found
To recognise a better way
In keeping both feet on the ground
Sitting deep in contemplation
In pursuit of wiser things
One must attempt to realise
What misinterpretation brings
Finer points in suppositions
Find assumptions in the mist
Avoiding, kindly, well-intentioned
Lost and struggling with the gist
On the lookout for some extras
Minor supplements at hand
To beef up pocket luxuries
Find niceties unplanned
To do with gay abandon
Take a chance and spend
On sorts of things that do for you
A trifle would-be recommend
Looking both ways deep within
Misleading in a twirl
To the sound of soft distortion
That struggles to unfurl
No one can say in truth which way
Whoever ran the gauntlet
Insanely spinning tearfully
A crazy twirling silhouette
Trapped inside a rolling river stream
Losing sight of which way next
No chance to find the other side
Not sink below and die perplexed
In amongst the myriads
Harmoniously contained
Cooperating seamlessly
In essence unconstrained
Creatures full of promises
Needing help to understand
That nothing is for certain
That even less was planned
Though consciousness and ego
Commanding from behind
Will be awake when challenged
In conversations with the mind
Curiosity is its driving force
In limiting the cost
Among members of a family
Who do their best to not get lost
Seeking gold by counting pennies
Putting by in porcelain
Expecting that by carrying weight
Will bring riches in the main
Wealth may bring some extra care
From those below the line
Who, happily, will shower you
And so reshape to reassign
Transference of yours to theirs
Will bestow on others rosy views
Who may attend when passing by
Or write obituaries in the news
