Talking Tools

I rummaged through my tool chest
a din of heavy metal clatter
I briefly paused and wondered
how very nice if we could chatter

The Pry Bar would have leverage
to open up the conversation
A rule most likely talk at length
spanners tight with concentration

My hammer's impact swift and sure
would hit the nail upon the head
As with a sturdy pair of plyer's
who get to grips with all that's said

We'd tell the chisels sharpen up
against the grain they may be blunt
The plane would smooth things over
a smart set-square without affront

As the summer fades to autumn glow
we'll put the garden tools to bed
As for all outstanding projects
we can discuss them in the shed
