Those were the days
full of fun,
miniskirts
and showing your bum
4-inch heels
and make-up to scare
spending an hour
just doing your hair
listening to music
as loud as can be
getting home from work
rushing out after T
can't be late for the gig
Got to get to the front
drink plenty of cider
until I'd feel drunk
falling into the taxi
to make my way home
unaware of the noise
struggling at the front door
trying to make coffee
to sober me up
sick on the carpet
and falling over the pups
4:00 in the morning
and full of despair
having some trouble
to get up the stair
looking down at my watch
at its broken face
and here Mum yell
Sharon, You’re a disgrace
At 6:00 in the morning
and feeling rough
get ready for work
and rush for my bus
another day of being young
living to the full
and having fun
