Heidegger's Muffling Fog

Watching rain a drizzling
may not stimulate the mind
or create a state of motion
when you’re spatially confined

When action brings on tedium
I get pleasure when I say
this struggling lack of stimulus
need not dominate my play

On nothing more than boredom

  1. Apparently, this guy Heidegger wrote a 100-page thesis on boredom. My teacher once made write 100-lines on the very same subject. I couldn’t find my version on Wikipedia. How boring.

  2. I have been asked about the last line of this verse: "need not dominate my play". It simply means 'play on words'. A great thing to do should boredom come and touch me on the shoulder.
