Forager

Living in a time mangle
That wrings out every hour
Wishing we could hold on
Not let the past turn sour

Every day can be just any day
If it wears like an old coat
Just like the smiles we discard
Haunting messages we once wrote

Life invites us to dare to strive
Seeking quiet by a stream
Only when the raging storm subsides
To sleep unbroken in a dream
