When first we gaze our image seen
Not quite knowing who we are
Yet most absorbing holds our eye
As we embrace Amour de soi
The who and what looks back at us
We are the very best we’ve got
Constantly we seek reminders
As we reflect that sideways shot
There is no looking forward
At that mirror from afar
Who allows us to love others
Though first we need Amour de soi
