Egged On

Marking down the market price
Our chicken’s chirpy cheep
Hoteliers scramble by our shop
Our cracking eggshells earn their keep

They whisk away to bake their cakes
These lavish custard trifle folks
To hanker after poaching feasts
In Spanish omelette onion yolks

Sunny side or over easy
A dozen ways to cheese soufflé
You can’t eclipse a boiled ellipse
Or rates that eggs on faces pay
