On The Cards

By chance my cards are looking good
Calm down I tell myself
Within I'm quivering deep inside
A wheeling deal I'm tasting wealth

Sitting lonely with my madcap on
Pretend to make a careless bid
A form of mettle test detection
To hit the weaker nerve well hid

Holding back feign hesitation
Then up the ante with aplomb
Should they stack or see the hand I have
A poor response may cost a bomb
