Looking
frowzy feeling drowsy
My
ticking clock shows no alarm
I
flop around without a sound
Mulling
tail end scraps of calm
Today
began before me
I’m
playing catch up with the sun
Perhaps
another cup of tea
With
a toasted buttered bun
The
telephone is ringing rude
I’m
not up for conversation
My
tongue is tired of language
A
mindless vocal imitation
I
struggle to remember when
The
night before took me away
A
sneak thief stole my images
I
can only day dream of today
