Taking Sides

Chanting choruses derisively
A mockers tainted sing along
A form of therapy among the group
Who feel their guiding light is strong

Singing loudly should the chips go down
A prophylactic of the crowds
Ill prepared to take strong medicine
Nor weather storms of looming clouds

As though the strength of many feelings
Might cause opposition zest to wane
Just as a sabre-rattling call to arms
May be a short-lived speeding train
